e-Rang Basanti, an online Colourful Youth Festival cultural program was conducted at ICFAI University, Jharkhand today. The program includes a variety of cultural events like Dancing, Singing, Sketching, Painting Competitions. Participating Performers included students and alumni of the University as well as students from the schools and colleges from Jharkhand and other states, which include Bihar, Orissa, Delhi. Professional artistes that participated in the event included Mr. Anish Das, Mr Manish Kumar Singh and Ms. Shubham Afree Panda. Types of Song and dance events included Indian and Western Classical, Folk-dances and Tribal dances, depicting the traditions, culture and heritage of Jharkhand.
Guests of Honour for the event included Md. Sabir Hussain, Director, International School of Art & Design, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, Principal, MMK High School, Bariatu and Ms. Monica Srivastava, Principal, Sachidanand Gyan Bharti Model School, Doranda.
Welcoming the participants to the function, prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said,” Our University is committed to groom our students into successful professionals and happy citizens, with good values. Campus Life at our University facilitates holistic personality development of our students. Purpose of conducting today’s Youth Festival is to encourage students to showcase their multifarious talents in various areas.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the University to unearth and nurture the hidden talents of the students. “The way ICFAI University is moulding the students can be a role model for other Universities,” added Dr Tanveer Ahmed. Md. Sabir Hussain exhorted the students to inculcate hobbies, which will help in all-round personality development. Ms. Monica Srivastava was full of praise for the University’s efforts in holistic personality development of the students as it is critical for their success.
Awards of recognition were presented to the best 3 participants in each category of events, for juniors (school students) and seniors (college students). Top awards in dance went to Sehjal Kumari (MMK High school) and Rajesh( Marwari college) whereas the ones for singing went to Trisha Deep (DAV Public School, Hehal) and Pratima Pandit (Sindri College). Awards for poster painting completion went to Simran Kumari (Radha Govinda Public School ,Ramgarh) and Suraj Kumar (Sandarsh Kala Kendra).
Faculty members of the ICFAI University that were actively involved in organising the event included Dr Manish Kumar, Prof Manohar Kumar Singh, Dr Sudipta Majumdar and Prof SSP Shukla, with active support from Mr Sumit Kumar Rathaur, Manager, IGID, Ranchi. Ms Arti Kumari, BCA student was the anchor for the event. Prof Arvind Kumar, Registrar of the University proposed Vote of thanks.
